Preschool
2 1/2 - 5 years
Preschool is a time in a child's life where they are
making connections between what they know and what
they are learning. As they graduate from the experiences
of preschool and transition towards kindergarten,
children are learning to participate in routines,
demonstrate ability to make decisions, and plan ahead.
The preschool curriculum at Little Stars
Montessori encourages children to make decisions
on their own and in the classroom. We help develop
children for the next stage of their education while
giving them a place to feel comfortable and safe to
explore their interests.
Little Stars Montessori has developed a preschool curriculum based on Montessori learning standards that progress sequentially across six developmental domains. These include:
-
Cognitive Development
-
Creative Expression
-
Executive Function
-
Language and Literacy Development
-
Physical Development and Wellness
-
Social and Emotional Development
Virtual Preschool Classes
Like everyone else, we have had to adapt and make changes due to
the COVID situation. In April 2020, we began conducting virtual preschool
classes through Zoom. We offer group classes and individual lessons to students ages 3 to 6.
You can sign your child up for 3x/week - 30 minute individual sessions with a teacher where they will be working on reading, writing and math work based on your child’s level. If your child is enrolled in public kindergarten, the teachers can assist with the worksheets they need to complete or they continue with our academic work.
We will be holding a group class Monday - Friday for 1.5 hours. During the group lessons, we have a theme each week to cover different topics with the children, story time, arts and crafts, worksheets, exercise/dancing, and show and tell. The group class will only be available to students signed up for the individual lessons. Send us an email if you are interested in signing up for our online program!
